I was inspired by a broken topped empty Robin's egg thirty five years ago. I kept the egg in a small jar on a shelf above my jewelry work bench.

 

Twenty one years passed with many failures. Then I finally accomplished a successful casting of a hollow sphere with an irregular cut out shape.

 

My Whorlsphere jewelry collection evolved from that first rather coarse casting of a hollow sphere which I had been told by many was impossible.

 

The thirty five year old egg still has a special place in my heart and soul..... and on a shelf above my work bench.
